The standard we aim for

Inyonitech Solutions aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on every page. This page says what the site's shared layout does towards that, and what has not been done.

What is in place

  • A skip link is the first thing in the tab order on every page, and goes straight to the main content.
  • Keyboard focus is always visible on links and buttons, with an outline drawn in its own colour.
  • Zoom is not locked. Text can be enlarged, and the layout reflows on a narrow screen.
  • Wide tables scroll inside their own box, which a keyboard can reach and scroll with the arrow keys.
  • One look for light and dark. The site is black whatever your system's setting, so it does not switch to a light theme.
  • Motion. These parts of the site move:
    • The two bands, which pause while the pointer is over them. Each has a pause button that appears when a keyboard user focuses it.
    • The message in the home page header, which changes every six seconds and pauses while the mouse pointer is over it. Its arrow shifts a little when the link is hovered or focused, and its pause button appears when a keyboard user focuses it.
    • The sand behind the home page's windows, and the sand in the opening of the About us page. Both move on their own and bend where the mouse pointer passes. Each has a pause button that appears when a keyboard user focuses it.
    • The home page's screenshots, which scroll down and back up while the mouse pointer is over them.
    • The blue light edge on each price card on the pricing page, which turns while the pointer is over that card.
    • On the About us page, the sand closes into a disc and opens again as you scroll, the mission's words light up in turn, and the steps come up in turn. The light trail follows the mouse pointer across the page, and each step's highlight follows it across the step.
    • The wave in the Sound icon, which runs while the sound is on.
When your system asks for reduced motion, all of them stop. The bands and the screenshots stay still, the sand is one still picture, the message in the header starts paused, the light edges on the price cards stay still, and the About us opening has no trail and no scroll effects. The wave in the Sound icon rests still.
  • Sound is on by default and starts at your first click, tap or key press. The Sound icon at the start of the navigation turns it off and on, on every page. If you turn it off, it stays off on your next visit.

What has not been done

  • No formal audit has been carried out by a third party, so this page describes what has been done rather than a certification.
  • The site has not yet been tested by screen reader users in practice, which is a different thing from meeting a standard, and a better one.

If something does not work

Please write to hello@inyonitech.com and say which page, what you were using and what happened. An accessibility problem is a defect in Inyonitech Solutions and is treated as one.
